Dental abscess advice

Noticed a small white spot low down on my gum just prior to going to hygienist, so insignificant I pointed it out to her.
Sent picture down to the dentist who put me on a 5 day course of amoxicillin, to go back in 7 days.
Abscess worse. Took x-ray on Friday, not related to tooth, it is gum related.
Told nothing more they could do and to rinse with salt water.

Everything I read says it won't go away on it's own and to see the dentist.
Exhausted that avenue.

What now? No pain but getting bigger.

Does your dentist not advise extraction ? Presumably if nothing more can be done, then this tooth has severe periodontal disease?

My dd currently nursing an abscess and has extreme dental phobia. She has just been prescribed antibiotics.

You could try holding a teabag against it. My oldest Dd swears by it, will draw it out. Ive been known to squeeze like a spot - i would not recommend it.

If it is getting bigger then surely it needs another course of antibiotics. Either amoxicillin or metronidazole.

Keep rinsing with a medicated mouth wash or warm salt water if it's gum related. Have they not offered to clean out under the gum? X

To answer some questions.
The tooth isn't compromised, an x-ray showed that, it is the gum only.
I have been rinsing with both salt water and Corsodyl (at different times)

I am going to email a picture today, see what they say.
The dentist who saw me said she'd never seen anything like it before so hopefully it will land in the inbox of a more experienced dentist.
