Got this tick bite 16 days ago in Perthshire Scotland.
No symptoms or rash or anything like that.
However, The bite mark has not disappeared yet. I got the tic out in about 14 hours.
. Should I be worried?
Any help is appreciated!

If you are asymptomatic after 16 days I wouldn't be worried. I've had Lyme and it's very noticeable.

Any fever, sore throat, or general unwellness within 6w of a tick bite could be Lyme, even if you didn't develop the classic rash. I don't think the bite still being visible is necessarily anything to be concerned about.

I lived in the Highlands and had several as a child, get usually one per summer visit back home and somehow got THREE last week when I was up there! They can stay red and itchy a while even with them completely removed. Keep an eye on the redness and for the bullseye effect. But in my mind they're a bit like clegg bites that can not itch for days till you bump it and it's itchy all over again. Little bitey shites.

The stadnard advice with any tick bite is:
www.nhs.uk/conditions/lyme-disease/

See a GP if:
-you've been bitten by a tick or visited an area in the past 3 months where infected ticks could be

and you have:

-flu-like symptoms – such as feeling hot and shivery, headaches, aching muscles or feeling sick, or

  • a round or oval shape rash

I would phone my GP if I ever got a tick bite tbh, you can still call for advice.

@lannistunut don't phone your GP every time you get a tick bite. I would have been on the phone at least 25 times this summer, between me and the children (central Scotland, fairly outdoorsy kids). Sure my GP would have been delighted.

Do seek help if you ALSO get the flu-like symptoms or larger rash. As per the NHS page.

They can leave a mark like a normal insect bite. If it's that, then I wouldn't worry.

If you've had 25 tick bites in the family this year alone, wouldn't it be a good idea to take measures to avoid getting themin the first place?

Not always possible. I had long trousers tucked in. Dog is flea and ticked to the max. The wee buggers still get me. I'm the only one in a family of farmers.
