Sore chest on deep breath but not sharp

I’m seeing my respiratory consultant in a few weeks about this but this but just wondering if anyone has been through similar. I have mild reduced lung function due to weak diaphragm. Since last March I have had fatigue on and off, breathlessness on and off (maybe anxiety?) and for the last 6 months or so every few days wheezy sounding chest and dull burny pain on a deep breath (not sharp) I am a bit worried about it but every time I look up pain on breathing which I know I shouldn’t, it just says pleurisy. Anyone been through similar?

Yes, but it was pleurisy, so probably not helpful to you. I hope you feel better soon.

Oh ok thanks squirrels. Hope you are ok now.

I would recommend going to see your GP if you are wheezy and already have reduced lung function you could have a chest infection or pleurisy hope your feeling better soon

Yeah all good thanks Smile. I just seem to be able to tone to pleurisy. Had it several times. It is very much like what you describe though. Does the pain on breathing in get more severe as you try to further increase your breath in? Is the wheezy chest crackly/bubbly? Do you sometimes feel like you need to give a small sharp breath out without expecting to - like a cough without the cough?

Yeah the bigger the breath, it’s been intermittent over 6 months though, sort of mild some days and then others really noticeable burn feeling on a big inhale. Yes I’ve had that cough without the cough feeling! The wheezy is hard to explain, not quite crackly but a bit of sound when I breathe in and it’s hurting, sorry not sure how to explain it. I’m hoping they’ll do my usual tests to see if things are ok, spirometer etc
