I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant. Iv suffered with varicose veins for a few years now. The doctors will not remove them as they are considered cosmetic. I appreciated that and did my own treatment. But roll on 2-3 years later they are now causing excruciating pain. To thee point I have to crawl some days, wearing stockings and elavating the leg actually brings the pain on. I am a mom of two girls and another on the way. I am not able to be laid up because of a vein. I have sent pictures and got on to the doctors but they are not interested. I am aware their isn't a lot they can do whilst I'm pregnant but it would be reassuring to know I have a plan for the future. So I am looking in to private health care. Does anybody know any insurance that will take on pre existing problems? Tia

Poor you. Thanks

You don't need private health insurance to have private health treatment. You can have your veins treated in a private clinic as a paying patient.

I did this and it cost me £400 for one leg done as outpatient procedure (no overnight stay).

If you choose this route, you need to tell your GP you'd like to see a private consultant.

The GP will usually write you a letter of referral for the private consultant really quickly as it means you'll no longer be bothering the GP with this problem.

Good luck
