Yes she can go to school, u can get stuff from chemist for her to take.

Slouchy · 22/11/2007 21:59

Ovex or pripsen. both over the counter (but if you see Gp will prob prescribe)

Wash all pants, pjs, sheets on super-hot. Cut nails very short. Lecture her about not scratching bum/putting fingers in mouth.

Not sure about school.

is it full family treatment?

what do i do about bedding etc.

we have managed to go 7 years without getting them, so am new to this part.

Meant to say, you need to treat whole family (not sure about Peter with meds etc).

Ovex much easier to take - teaspoon of banana gloop. Pripsen is a gritty drink.

LadyVictoriaOfCakeThe2nd · 22/11/2007 22:02

can we get it in tablet form for us?

is it one dose, or repeat dosages?

OP posts:
Slouchy · 22/11/2007 22:03

Think it is one dose, then another in a couple of weeks.

LadyVictoriaOfCakeThe2nd · 22/11/2007 22:04

okey dokey. she was worried about missing school as its non-uniform day tomorrow.

this is an 'inform the school' one though isnt it?

Hoover everywhere! And damp dust bedrooms. (Sorry, worms make a lot of work) We have had worms 5 times in our house over the past 18 months.

I told the school my ds kept getting it, and they issued all kids with a leaflet about handwashing, and the school nurse came in to give a talk about not picking your nose, etc. And 200 children all went 'Urghhh!' , then calmly inserted their digits back in their nostrils.

Treat the whole family, and again 2 weeks later. And don't feel too skanky!

Slouchy · 22/11/2007 22:05

Yes, it prob is best to mention it.

LadyVictoriaOfCakeThe2nd · 22/11/2007 22:15

thanks for all the help. looks like my swimming lesson will be cancelled tomorrow as i get on with making this place clean everywhere. will strip all beds first things. if i put the allergey protecters on the beds, i assume i dont have to worry about amttresses etc?>

and is 60 degree wash hot enough?

trying to find out if peter can take ovex. waiting for pharmacy to call back.

Elibean · 23/11/2007 09:51

60 is fine.

Poor you having all the extra work

If Peter can't take Ovex, he can do the 'extreme hygiene' measures for six weeks, as pregnant women are advised to do - pants in bed under pjs, wash nether region first thing, lots handwashing etc.

But it means ongoing hoovering and sheet changing, so if he can take Ovex so much the better!

Good luck!

one bedroom down, 2 to go.

laundry pile is huge!

kitchen, hallway, bathroom, living room will be done tonight. need to strip the sofa as well as dd's are always stripping off and bounding all over the sofa. thank goodness for washable covers.

Misdee · 23/11/2007 12:44

hospital are still trying to find out if he can take ovex.

Misdee · 23/11/2007 14:18

finally got an answer, yes he can take it. so everyone is being dosed after school.

Elibean · 23/11/2007 16:16

Phew

JackieNo · 23/11/2007 16:21

We're there too LVOC - we found that DD had them on Wednesday. I'm still catching up with the washing. I think the Ovex instructions say one dose, and can be repeated after two weeks if they reappear, so no need to routinely take after 2 weeks again if they've gone, iyswim.

Misdee · 23/11/2007 16:37

urgh that was nasty lol.

JackieNo · 23/11/2007 17:37

Tastes foul, doesn't it. Just as well it isn't a 'three times a day' one.
