SAMPS =
Serratus anterior myofascial pain syndrome (SAMPS) is often a diagnosis of exclusion. Its vague presentation of chest pain yields many differential diagnoses. Such is the case for most types of myofascial pain syndromes.
Thought I'd better describe what it is! :)
History: fibro dx 10 years ago. Told to go away and come back if it got worse. Arthritis in spine. Newly dx.
For well over a year now I've had pain I'm my right armpit, pins and down my right inner arm to my last 2 fingers on that hand.
This pain radiates from my armpit, round my shoulder, on my right side of my ribs and under my boob (sorry!)
Have had breast exam, chest x Ray, bloods, all OK.
I'm seeing a chiropractor which helps with the shoulder pain.
I've seen this described - oddly on a yoga website - and it does seem to describe my symptoms.
Anyone with any experience? Meds that help (or don't) exercises etc?
I'm rather fed up now :( and not sure whether to even mention it to my Dr.
