Appointment with cardiologist

A couple of months ago I was having chest pain, palpitations and was given a Ecg at Gp's which was abnormal and looked like it had a heart attack. I then went to hospital, had other tests, who then said myocarditis as a result of covid.

I now have a cardiologist appointment (telephone) on Friday and I need questions to ask cardiologist; I don't want to come of the call and realise I'd forgot some important questions. I'm only 32 and never had any heard problems before.

I've had similar investigations but for something that sounds more minor. I wish I'd asked questions about whether I needed to avoid certain sports/exercise etc. I'm guessing not as it wasn't mentioned, but I do occasionally get palpitations after exercise which always makes me worry.

Thanks @winniesanderson
That's really helpful because I've been avoiding exercise but that wasn't mentioned when I was in a&e

I had myocarditis and on going problems. I would ask about:
Exercise
When to be worried about symptoms and when not (I’m learning that some symptoms are transient, not everything needs medical intervention)
Prognosis - I needed to know, you may not.
Fluid intake, restricted or not
Good luck!

What tests have you had done recently for the cardiologist to know what progress you have made in healing?

What tests did you have done originally to diagnose you

What medications are you taking now? How do they make you feel?

Have they done an angiogram, OP? If I were in your shoes, I would ask for this. At your age, a heart attack is so unusual.
Please ask them to rule out a SCAD (Sudden Coronary Artery Dissection- which is when the artery tears, creating a skin flap that folds back and blocks the artery, causing a heart attack. There is a correlation between hormonal flux and SCADS. There have also been several reported SCADS as a result of Covid which have been studied).
Also, I would wonder if it might be best to get plugged into seeing a cardiac electrophysiologist (if you have not seen one in the hospital during your stay). I would be highly surprised if your heart attack was caused by the 'traditional' plaque build-up in the arteries. You will require a non-traditional approach. For example, if you don't have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, you don't need to take statins and blood pressure meds, the typical approach to heart attack patients. But you're not the typical cardiac patient.
What meds do they have you taking? I would talk about longterm beta-blockers, blood thinners (for one year), and aspirin with your cardiologist. I would get to the bottom of what acutely caused this heart attack (electrics? blocked arteries? Was it a tear in the artery?). Covid is a disease of the blood vessels. I'd be really asking for 1) an angiogram and b) a cardiac MRI- look at every single artery from head to toe. It is about an hour and a half long, but you are young and you want to have those arteries analysed. COvid induced heart attack is a vague answer. You want to know what acutely triggered this heart attack.

Best of luck!
