Two week cancer pathway

I'm just after a handhold or anyone been through similar.

Been having a bit of bloating lately and fullness when not eating a lot. No other symptoms but I went to the doctors and they have referred me to gynaecology and said I will have an appointment within 2 weeks. Does that mean suspected C? I'm so worried, wish I hadn't have gone now as I don't feel poorly or ill, feel a bit of a fraud but so so worried now

It’s important it’s being checked and in either scenario it’s a blessing (couldn’t find a better word!) that you will have the clarity sooner rather than later. There are different possibilities and the worst one is just one of them: it could be nothing, could be something minor, could be something fairly serious but treatable, etc.

Crossing fingers for you, OP.

I'm currently on the 2 week pathway for a breast lump. The GP explained that it isn't that they think it is cancer but that it is important to rule that out if you present with any symptoms that could be. Try not to worry, although I know myself, easier said than done.

Thanks for replying @DrinkFeckArseGirls.
I've just had a googled and it seems that 90% referred through this pathway are not cancer which is reassuring

Try not to worry OP, I was told by the GP that it’s a good way to get you seen quickly when I went with a breast lump (which was fine).

I’m currently undergoing investigations for ovary issues, have had a scan and blood tests, and an mri yesterday. Waiting for follow up next week. It’s horrible waiting, can really get to you! I would say to try to put it to the back of your mind, but I’m failing at that at the moment! Flowers

OP - I had those symptoms and had a whole load of worry also. There are loads of things it could be apart from cancer. Mine was a "normal" cyst - they come and go and you wouldn't normally know, but sometimes they don't go and can grow fairly large. This can cause feeling full after eating relatively little because I guess the stomach hasn't got the room to expand as it did before. (I did have to have an op to have it removed).
Try not to worry - I know that is easier said than done - but try to tell yourself there is no point worrying unless you have something to worry about!

Hey OP, I've also just got the two week referral for bowel / colon cancer. To make matters worse the two weeks clashes with what was supposed to be my first holiday since Covid (now cancelled) and my birthday Sad, so I'm feeling properly sorry for myself. HOWEVER...I don't actually think the outcome will be cancer (not sure why - just a gut feeling). I've decided to see the positive in the fact that I've got a quick referral (ie it'll get sorted quickly) which I think is actually a gift in these Covid times when the waiting lists are loooooooong. My first consultation is tomorrow.

I hope your two weeks is going ok.

Please don’t panic. I’ve had 4 different 2 week referrals for all sorts of things and all have been okay. Most referrals are not cancer. And if the worst comes to the worst than catching it so quickly can make all the difference. Good luck.

Handholding. Flowers

I was referred on the two-week Cancer pathway a few weeks ago. It was terrifying and I convinced myself I was going to die within weeks. Then it turned out that I didn't have cancer after all and I'm still very much alive.

It's incredibly scary, but hopefully it will turn out to be nothing. In the meantime, stay strong and try not to focus on the worst case scenario.
