Has your oral health suffered?

Since lockdown has anyone else's oral health suffered?

I'm utterly embarrassed at the state of my teeth. They are discoloured, stained and not in the best state. I brush my teeth everyday and try to take care of them but I feel like lockdown and just been stuck in eating and drinking more has really affected them.
I'm petrified of the dentist as it is and avoid going if at all possible but then as soon as something feels not right I panic and go.

I am booked in for a hygienist appointment shortly and I'm even scared of that. I know I'll feel much better after having them cleaned properly but I'm almost embarrassed to go because of how bad they are.

Mine definitely have. I was pregnant/had 3rd child in lockdown and only saw a dentist once when I was 8 weeks and took my kids.

My gums really suffer in pregnancy but have always been ok with regular cleaning and check ups. I saw the dentist as soon as I could get an appointment (two months ago) to be told my very back top gums have gum disease and they have put me on a programme where I need regular treatment.
I'll happily pay for my treatment but now my baby is 1 I'm a bit miffed I didn't get my free maternity treatment and would probably not have any problems if I'd regularly seen the dentist.

It is what it is!

Yes totally! I grind my teeth at night to the point that they are loose in the morning. My old shield doesn't fit anymore due to having a tooth removed and the teeth migrating. I called several times and was told to relax before bed and bite on a pencil!!

I now have tmj issues that prevent me from opening my mouth properly.

I've been removed from the dentist list because I haven't had a check up in 18months. Words fail me!

Yep! I was due a check up just as we went into the first lockdown, so it's been about 2.5 years since I last went! They are still only seeing emergencies.

No, we had an appointment in January, previously October 2019, usually me every 12 months and DS every six. Everything was fine. I've never had anything wrong before though and only saw the dentist twice between the ages of 11 and 33 without any issues.
