My DD is 5months old now anyway for odds and sods I had some blood tests done and i have been diagnosed with Raised Cholestrol I am 32yrs old and eat a fairly healthy diet, I rarely eat junk food....expect when I was pregnant...

Anyone know if what I ate in pregnancy still have an impact on my cholestrol levels now? As I had a think during pregnancy for foods I would normal rarely eat (battered sausgage and chips with curry sauce, sweet and sour chicken balls in batter, egg fried rice, ice-cream) I have to go back to the quacks in 5months to be retested.....

If not does anyone know any good books? with more info?

Thanks in advanced.

What is your cholesterol reading?

Tbh I very much doubt 9 months of not great eating would have affected your cholesterol levels (I also had a thing for high fat food with my 2nd)

Oats (and other whole grains), nuts and seeds all help lower bad cholesterol as well as lots of fruit and veggies.

Cut down on or cut out animal fats as this is what produces cholesterol. Such things as dairy are the worst culprits. Anything with hydrogenated oils in is a no-no but you probably knew that anyway, so read the back of any margarines before buying, as well as avoiding storebought cakes and biscuits.
Do you exercise enough? Smoke? Drink red wine?

Thanks ...My reading was 6 but I didn't get the breakdown of LDL & HDL? So when I have the nurse to check BP (for pill) I will ask was their a breakdown....

I do eat porriage for breakie I snack on seeds as a rule and eat plenty of fresh veggies.... I do exercise not enough admittedly its been difficult as DD is a bit of a nightmare in the eves at the mo so don't like to leave her I am assuming she is teething I don't smoke and do drink
