Hello,

So the last time i had really watery eyes (looks like im crying!) was just after the birth of my little girl and now im in a period of stress again they are back, previously had to have tear ducts drained but i was wondering if anyone has any tried and tested drops/methods etc to help before going to the dr (as i obviously cant get an appointment at the moment!)

Thanks!

If you can’t get to see a GP have you thought about seeing an optician? I recently had issues with my eyes, they were intermittently scratchy and I had a horrible dull ache right above one of my eyes. Spoke to the GP surgery first who (without seeing me!) diagnosed me with sinus problems and gave me antibiotics and a nasal spray, whilst also telling me to take an antihistamine. Did that and no improvement so went to see my optician who was bloody brilliant and extremely thorough and diagnosed me with dry eyes and blepharitis! Said it would be a long road of treatment (up to a year!) but gave me all the necessary stuff and thankfully the ache has gone and I’m treating both conditions aggressively. The nasal spray and antihistamine were hindering my recovery as they dry everything out so I stopped those immediately and would definitely see my optician first for eye issues than a GP. Hope you get yourself sorted! ☺️

I am in no way an expert, but I think watering is often because your eyes are dry (so they overcompensate as it were). So might be worth just trying some hypromellose or viscotears.

Dry eyes can definitely cause watering. I would see an optician.
