to remove my 7 month old cling on - he needs to be held or attached not sat next to or within 1 metre - actually permanently attached - do you think they do it on the NHS or will I have to go private??

ooh, I think you can only get a clingectomy privately these days.

Might be better performing one yourself - dangerous though, and bound to be painful (for you both!)

I think that you will have to go private. I could not afford the fees to be honoust and I am still on the NHS waiting list. I currently have a 2.7 YO clingon and a 16 month old one - Bloody NHS

Oh my god - its terminal - I thought atleast we may get over it with some antibiotics and painkillers but I realise surgery will be the best long term solution - we could not handle this for another 2 years - that would be truly awful.

Better go book ourselves into the Bath Clinic

If only we could afford to go pivate - I am so

currantbunmum · 19/11/2007 17:48

You could try applying Vaseline, liberally, this makes it trickier for the clingon to attach itself.

Trust me I'm a nurse.

p.s. This only works if you are both naked, so probably only in the confines of your home, with the curtains drawn.

Wow what a cheap alternative option - I have some KY - will that do?

All 3 sprouts are now in bed - thank goodness - ky worked a treat - although fear may be sleeping with sprout no.2 tonight.

Word of warning: One day your previous cling-y will perform their own clingectomy - mine did at around about 3 years old - and it will seem very painful indeed... I find myself asking for a bit of clinging these days.

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 19/11/2007 19:29

Oh yes - I totally need something to cling on to around strangers - gives you someone to talk to!
