Ds is 13 and started vomiting at about 11pm last night and kept going until about an hour ago.He was ok one minute and throwing up the next and says he feels ok apart from the vomiting. He is asleep now but am wondering if this is a bug going round or something else.I have bought some rehydrating sachets so will try those when he wakes up

mine are little so we have pamper bed sheet things under sheets. they are great and protect the mattress!! don't protect your sheet though!!! poor little love. not much fun is it!!!

Poor ds, sounds the same as my dd2 - though she is only 11 months. This particular bug: accompanied by runny nose and cough, no temp, and no idea how long it lasts

I've also bought Diarolyte, GP said to use it after every vomit (which is after every sip of water, almost).

Hope your ds is better soon, Noddy, doesn't matter how old they are its horrid!

thanks seems a bit silly posting about a teenager but he is still little and he is in a right state Got quite scared last night tbh!

yep we've had the vomitting bug, lasted about two/four days, followed by the diorreah(sp) bug a week later...yes indeedy been a fun time in this household for the past four flipping weeks (both girls took it in turns to be ill obviously).........

Elibean · 19/11/2007 15:21

not silly at all, 13 is definitely a child in my book (though almost certainly not in your ds's!)

dd had a vicious diarrhoea bug that lasted a week, two weeks ago - no one else caught it. Hopefully we've got that one out of the way then

doesn't matter how old we are,are parents still think we are children!!! hope he is feeling better after a sleep

Elibean · 19/11/2007 18:34

I remember being 13 very clearly. Defo a child, and defo didnt' want to be one/thought of as one except when ill - then, glad to be

dd has miraculously not vomited for three hours, held down 60mls of milk as well as 2 rice cakes and a load of water with Calpol, Ranitidine and Diarolyte: a heady mix

I think, dare I think, she's on the mend....really hope your ds is too, Noddy. Took 36 hours, so far.

noddyholder · 19/11/2007 18:41

Ds woke at 4 and hasbn't vomited again Fingers crossed It is a reminder of when he was little Quite enjoying it really in a nostalgic way although the sound of the simpsons is deafening!
