Slightly raised iron level, repeated liver tests

My 24 year old son has had symptoms of tiredness, aching joints, stomach pains (thought it may be related to his diabetes)
The gp did general blood test which came back with a query regarding liver something (son has told me but is unsure what it actually was), they repeated the blood tests twice more and have now said (after ringing him and quizzing about alcohol consumption - which is minimal) he needs to book an ultrasound, and has slightly raised iron levels.

Anyone have any experience of this sort of thing or any words of wisdom?

He did say that the doctor prodded his stomach and found nothing of note which is good.

All those symptoms sound like coeliac disease, there is a link between coeliac and type 1 diabetes

www.coeliac.org.uk/information-and-support/coeliac-disease/conditions-linked-to-coeliac-disease/type-1-diabetes/

A T total family member of mine with coeliac regularly gets accused of being a heavy drinker when they have blood tests due to raised LFTs. As long as they stick to their gluten free diet though it improves.

Although just realised you said raised iron, coeliacs are often iron deficient.

Didn't think of coeliac. Although possibly not if it's not linked with higher iron?

Sons just had an ultrasound today. So we should find something soon.
