Anyone with stiff/ painful feet?!

A bit of an odd one, but since I had DD who is now 16 months my feet and ankles are so stiff and sore in the mornings. It happens too if I’ve been sat for a while. When I get up I shuffle for about 5 minutes till everything seems to have ‘loosened up’
I’ve been to the Drs about this- she took a blood test which showed inflammation so I was referred to a rheumatologist. She said I’ve no signs of swelling and so ruled out RA. I asked my GP to test for any deficiencies etc. but results were normal. I am no better a whole year on. The only thing that came from other blood tests were that my ferritin was low so had iron tablets.
I have seen a podiatrist and a physio but no real ideas.
Anyone on here had anything similar and got any answers? I’m getting so fed up with it now!

This thread has made me realise that my feet aren’t stiff in the mornings anymore. They used to be, incredibly so, and I can’t work out when they stopped! Possibly when I lost some weight, but I’m reaching now. Anyway - I’m 45, have only started taking supplements this week ?(so it can’t be that) and am not on any medication.

It may well have stopped during lockdown, so when I was only wearing trainers or plimsolls, and not shoes with structure. I haven’t worn heels for a few years, so it’s not that.

@JayAlfredPrufrock

Arthritis doesn’t manifest itself in feet and hands 😱

What’s wrong with mine then?

I know - My eyebrows practically hit the ceiling when she said it. But she is one of those drs who if challenged, asks you where your medical degree is. So I left and no longer bother with the Gp. The nurses are lovely though - problem is everyone now books to see them! (Well they did precovid, I don’t know now it’s all gone Zoom)

I have hypothyroidism and often have low vit D levels. I now know to increase my vit D dose when my feet start aching. Did they test your vit d levels?

Doh!

Mine started in my hands, I have had to have a bone removed from my right hand, now they are both knackered and full of swollen painful nodules.

Now I also have it in my hips, knees, feet, even my sternum cracks when I get up and move.

I am 51

I'm glad you posted this OP! I'm 36 with a 4 month old and my ankles and feet are very stiff in the mornings. I've kind of written it off to either being dehydrated or sitting weirdly in bed when feeding the baby but it's v strange!

@RelictHominoid

The same GP managed to fill in my Dh medical form for his hgv licence - and put him down as being blind. That was an interesting one to sort. Thankfully DVLA allowed an optician to rewrite that part of the medical.
