Vomitting baby - what can i feed her?!

I think DD (12 months)has a tummy bug, she has puked twice (exorcist style) but i am concerned about feeding her. Shall i give her milk and see what happens, or just stick to water and toast?
Thanks for your help!

when dd had gastro thing around same age, GP warned us off milk and food, and prescribed dioralyte -- a powder you mix with water (tasted of blackcurrant, perfectly palatable), which replenishes useful nutrients/minerals the vomming expels

am sure you don't need prescription though, but perhaps check with NHS direct?

hope it passes soon

I was going to say NHS Direct too - when ds had similar they asked lots of detailed questions and pretty detailed advice too - so it's worth doing.

Breastmilk is usually ok sooner than anything else would be...
Otherwise, just stick to a sip of water (or dioralyte) every 5 mintues for a few hours, until she's truly hungry again. Then just give her a bite (literally), and wait 20 minutes. If she's still hungry, she's probably ok for another bite, and you can build up from there.

cool boiled water is normally softer on tummy's than mains water

That makes sense, Gothic.
The getting fluids if nowt else into them is really important. Dehydration is the main risk at this age.
