Chest pain

Three times now I’ve left a pub after having 1 fruit cider and had tight chest and chest/upper stomach pains. It doesn’t happen every time I drink cider and it hasn’t been the same kind of cider on each occasion. The pain and tightness affects my breathing and is really painful. It’s worse when I lay down and nothing much seems to help at all apart from bending/squatting. It’s only after it’s happened for a third time today that I’m sure it’s something to do with the alcohol but I can’t think what as I’ve drank alcohol between the times with no issues. It also only happens after I’ve left the pub so I’ve always been home but the time it starts and it only lasts about 20 minutes before completely stopping. Anyone ever had this?

Indigestion??

You don't mess about with chest pain - contact your GP tomorrow and tell them your symptoms.

Tight chest and chest pains should always be investigated. Yes, it is most likely indigestion or acid reflux, but could be heart related. Please speak to a doctor.

Fruit ciders do this to me every time, its indigestion.

Bagelsandbrie · 23/05/2021 22:01

Sounds like indigestion as seems to be specifically related to the cider. Could possibly be some sort of asthma thing as many people with asthma react to alcohol like that.

I had awful indigestion when pregnant and it’s definitely not the same feeling at all. I’ve been Googling (of course) and it seems to fit oesophageal spasms which can be set off by certain food/drink and stop abruptly. Will speak to GP anyway. Thanks all.
