Weight and Height Concerns

Hello!

My lovely 15month old son has only ever been weighed properly once since birth, during the heel prick visit. At his 12 week appointment they weighed him with all his clothes on! Lockdown joys. He's never had his height noted, not even at birth.

However now we've started seeing more of our NCT friends my sons 'petitieness' is becoming so much more apparent. We've measured and weighed him ourselves and he's around 74cm and weighs 9kg - he was really poorly last weekend and didn't eat for a week so dropped almost half a kg. He can comfortably fit in 6-9months clothes and seems way off his current age range.

I've only seen our HV when she came to do the 10-12month check...a month early. When I reached out to her in desperation when my son was a newborn (colic/wind/reflux) she didn't even respond to my messages or if she did she told me to call the main HV number. So I don't feel confident reaching out to her at all about this.

Would you be concerned at all about these statistics? Anyone have experience of there children suddenly catching up with others? My son eats but doesn't seem to have a big appetite despite being super active. I've tried high calorie foods with him but it is tough when his appetite is so little. He started walking at 10months and is always busy, I've no idea where he gets his energy!!!

He's a healthy weight and height for his age. Does he look healthy? Some babies stay in smaller clothes than their age.

I think he looks perfectly healthy.
It's that he's trailing on the bottom percentiles for both height and weight that causes me concern, especially as mealtimes have become silly. Yesterday he was nil by mouth except for his milk since 11am. This is becoming more and more frequent.

If you're concerned speak to your GP and ask them to contact your health visitor because that's appalling.

Does he like rice pudding, with full fat milk? Cheese etc. Hope he gets better soon, I'm sure he'll catch up.
