Am I Diabetic? Blood tests normal but Glucose home tests high

Blood tests came back as normal for diabeties, thyroid and iron.
I've been feeling very fatigued and weak lately and, drinking lots.
I bought an at home glucose motoring machine and these are my results over past few days:
Mon - 6.6mmol (fasting) 4.3mmol after breakfast
Tues - 6.3mmol (fasting) 6.6mmol after breakfast
Wed - 8.2mmol (fasting) 4.7mmol, 5.7mmol (before lunch), 8.4mmol (after lunch)
Thurs - 7.3mmol (fasting) 7.0mmol (after breakfast)
I look very pale, feel weak and tired.

I've made another doctors appointment for tomorrow morning. Can anybody advise whether readings show that I am diabetic or prediabetic?
Thank you

My husband and both our sons are type 1 diabetics, so although I'm no expert, I have lived alongside diabetics for over 30 yrs.
Your blood results look completely normal to me.

No I don't think anyone can advise you based on capillary samples (which is what you take when you use the home glucose monitor).

Diagnosis is based on venous samples (as when blood is taken from a vein).

Your after meal ones seem fine but the fasting readings look a little high. Might be worth a check with the GP?

Could you have some kind of underlying infection? As I understand it you can have raised glucose levels when ill, as the body produces extra to help fight it:

I told my GP and she just said my blood tests were normal and showed no signs of diabetes. She just disregarded those readings

Your fasting readings would be considered prediabetic but that’s assuming your monitor is calibrated etc.

The blood test at the GP would have been an hba1c. Did you get your actual result? Always worth asking.

Doc said my result was 36 but for it to be diabetes it would be 48.

Not sure if my machine is calibrated but it is a recommended one by the regulator in the UK. Sorry I can't remember the exact name

@Googleboxfan Hba1c is completely normal! 42 and above is prediabetic.

The only caveat to that is that other conditions can result in a falsely low hba1c, such as low iron or various blood variants, but as the rest of your bloods came back normal I wouldn’t worry about it. Some people just run a little higher than others!

Diabetic symptoms aren’t paleness or weakness anyway, it’s more headaches, frequent urination, thirst, but often none at all.
