Sorry if TMI but what times of the month can you get increased CM?

My period has gone AWOL, I was due I guess about 2 weeks ago now (but it starting to be a 35 day cycle rather than a 28/29) and now I have a huge increase in CM, it's very egg yolky (sorry!) and I thought that happened when you ovulated. Could I be ovulating very late, or normal time but had no period last month? I have had a sore tummy for about a week now aswell, like I am just about to come on but I never have, or ovulation pains?

Umm could you be pregnant by chance?

LadyOfWaffle · 14/11/2007 22:38

Nope, 2 negatives plus last time I was heaving 24/7 by now. DO you get an increase of CM when pregnant?

Egg yolky ??? Isn't is sposed to be egg whitey ?!

Sorry, being facetious. CM usually reaches a peak at your most fertile time, usually between 14 to 18 days into your cycle (but not exactly same for everyone obviously)

LadyOfWaffle · 14/11/2007 22:41

yeah, whites lol. Definatly not yolk! [dim]

And, yes it's poss that you missed an ovulation. You don't ovulate necessarily every month, hence the long time between periods etc.

LoW - no chance you could be menopausal is there?

Another thing that can causes a lot of apparent CM is piles! Yep, I know yeeuuch but they can cause the mucous membranes to be irritated and pump out the stuff to soothe the area (nice!)

LadyOfWaffle · 14/11/2007 22:51

OMG who moved, I am 21! No piles either, I think it's most likely I skipped an ovulation and the pain is ovulation pain.

Well if your cycle is suddenly getting irregular and longer it could be indicative of PCOS. Perhaps you should see your GP and ask?

LadyOfWaffle · 15/11/2007 11:44

oh I will ask him next time I am there.
