Any tips for improving posture?

I am early 40's and my posture is poor. I run a bit and walk a lot but otherwise no exercise. I feel like I'm sort of hunched forwards all the time (especially my shoulders) and I really don't want it to get worse but don't know how to stop it....any ideas would be gratefully received.

Have you tried yoga? Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube has some great videos

Pilates

Pilates - I like Lottie Murphy on YT and there are several specifically for improving posture. Improved mine no end.

Invisible wire!

That's what I bark at my slumping 14 year old. He's 6ft but you wouldn't know it half the time. So as soon as I say 'invisible wire!!' he immediately straightens up. The idea is you imagine a wire running from the top of your head down your spine and it'll at least force you to straighten up when you remember it!

I have very bad posture although I've recently found out that it's partially caused by another issue. I've bought a posture corrector. I think it's helping a little.

Have you got a curved spine, you can buy posture corrector that help you stand more upright. Do you spend much time hunched over a desk or computer.

Thanks so much for all these suggestions! I will definitely try the yoga and Pilates YouTube ideas to start with and the string idea! That's all really helpful, thank you.
