I have been feeling tired and run down basically since my 2nd baby was born over a year ago and have just had various blood tests. Two have come back as outside normal range:

Serum bilirubin - 43 (

What did your GP say?
I think the high bilirubin / low calcium could point towards a problem with your liver, or gallstones. You're not black are you? Sickle cell anaemia can cause high bilirubin.

The lowish ferritin and vit D could probably be increased through diet, over the counter supplements and more sun exposure.

I'm not medically trained though, definitely see what your GP thinks!

Thank you, I'm due to speak to the GP next week, just impatient! No I'm white, everything I've found on Google (I know, I know I shouldn't!) has suggested liver but no other symptoms really ring true for me.

Hi @Sleepyone1 I had similar earlier this year. My vit d was 25 so lower than yours but my serum adjusted calcium was 2.11 and gp advised that vitamin d deficiencies can throw calcium out of whack (among other things). I was given a vit d loading dose for 6 weeks and my calcium went up to serum adjusted 2.4 in that time likely from increased vit d and I also added more calcium to my diet (2 small glasses of milk a day, yoghurt, almond butter, eggs). Hard to say if the dietary calcium or vitamin d had the remedial effect but anyway was able to resolve my calcium within 6 weeks. Do you have any adrenal or thyroid issues as this can also affect electrolytes? Do you have a lot of symptoms besides tiredness (eg muscle spasms, nausea, loss of appetite, low blood pressure etc?)

Hey @Sleepyone1, I had high bilirubin (unsure about my calcium one), mine was 35. I have been diagnosed with Gilbert’s syndrome. Unsure if that could be the cause of your high bilirubin too? Just a suggestion though. Hope you get to the bottom of it 💐
