Ive done one inhale this evening and felt relief at 1st , but now uncomfortable again , although it seems slightly better. Is it accumulative ? I have to do it twice a day and then see the gp again in 2 weeks as the asthma nurse isnt available till Dec.

I dont know what my peak flow rate was , but gp said it was lower than it should be. The pharmacist suggested it would have been good to have the flow rate thing at home with me to track changes.

I feel very much as I did when I had tracheotis about 2 yrs ago , but gp said that it can present like that , but actually be asthma.

yes, it's accumulative. I seem to remember it's about 10 days before you'll feel the effects (which the doc didn't tell me when she gave ds one, even though I told her his chesty episodes were usually over in 2 weeks)

Ahhh ok, wasn't sure if I should feel better right away. Gp said if I get relief from its use then I have a more formal diagnoses.

I could deal with having this discomfort before asthma was brought into the picture ,thought I just had an infection and needed anti biotics, but now I know it could be asthma related , Im anxious about it. Its not a place my head should be going really!!!

If it's Symbicort it should work more quickly than some of the others. Don't let asthma panic you too much - mine was diagnosed over 25 years ago, and now I have the right inhaler it is no real problem to me. If the doctor does diagnose it, just make sure you see the asthma nurse regularly and don't underplay your symptoms.

Yes its symbicort , thats good to know abput it working quickly, so will feel better in a few days. Thats if its asthma at all hey, may be it is just a nasty virus.

If not, mn is such a relief to come to for advice.

I love Symbicort - it's really improved my quality of life. Hope you feel better soon, whatever it turns out to be.

It seems to work for only a few minutes and then Im hacking away again. Although Ive only had 2 doses now. I sound like Im on 40 a day !!!!! My voice keeps coming and going (well one minute its Minnie mouse , then its desperate Dan !!!)and yet I dont have laryngitis , its most weird , is that connected??

I hacked away till gone midnight, any tips, as can only use the inhaler twice a day. My sister said to suck a throat/cough sweet when going to bed.

My nights are awful , and this morning I started to hyperventilate. Nearly carted myself off to A&E , but dh thinks I don't have Asthma and that anyone using an inhaler would find relief. Thing is the relief from it is very short lived. My voice is going more and more and my chest is really tight. I keep on having to take breaths.
