Bloods was done because I had dizziness fast heart rate and I'm vegan, was anemic last year hb 11.6 but hb wasn't checked this time she forgot to add it but said it's fine ferritin normal.

What age are you?

I'm 52 and my ferritin range is 13 - 150. I have high ferritin, under investigation currently.

Yours looks in range but you can Google to see the reference ranges.

Can't hurt you to take some iron supplements though, Spatone is easy to take though I'm not sure if makes much difference really.

I don't know about B12, I wasn't tested for that.

HipHopBanzai · 14/04/2021 18:52

No idea about the B12 but my Ferritin was 10 when it was tested last year. GP said it was was at the very lowest end of normal. I did feel pretty tired with dizzy spells. GP wasn't overly concerned though.

HipHopBanzai · 14/04/2021 18:54

Should have added, my Hb was within normal range despite the low ferritin count.

VanGoghsDog · 14/04/2021 18:59

Yes, my hb is normal despite the high ferritin, I don't think they are necessarily linked.

You can have a normal B12 result and still suffer from a deficiency is your issue is malabsorption. You could ask for an active B12 test. Go private if GP won't do. Don't take any supplement in the meantime as that will skewed the result.

Sadly GP are poorly informed about it. There's lot if information available from groups and FB.
