I fell over quite badly about a month ago and landed on my face and felt like I damaged my tooth, went to the dentist and had a follow up at the dentist, they xrayed my teeth and done a cold test twice and nothing untoward found. Tooth has not changed colour. However tooth still feeds odd, no pain, no sensitivity, just a weird pressure thing, especially if biting on something uneven. They dentist did say from the first X-ray that it looked like my ligaments were swollen. Anybody experience anything like this. It’s not a pain, just an odd feeling. Thanks

@jenkel I know this is a really old thread but just want to know your outcome as I have the exact same thing! Knocked my tooth, X-ray all ok, no infection etc but the weird feeling you describe is still here 3 weeks later!

It could be bruising, it could be the tooth dying. The odd twinge can be overlooked or wait until the next check up but if there is constant pain, any swelling, change in colour of tooth then call your practice.

It's technical name is a subluxation injury if you want to Google.

Or a concussion likely in your case.

Took almost a year for the odd sensation to go, but it has gone and no damage to the tooth, a few dental checks since and all ok, no discolouration. Very grateful as I’m a coward when it comes to the dentist.

The dentist thought a ligament strain. When I say a year, I meant that it was about a year after and I just thought I don’t have any of the funny tooth sensation/pain anymore, can’t exactly remember the exact time it went, just noticed one day it had gone, so think it was a gradual thing.I was always nervous about biting day on that tooth, can now eat an apple no problem. Hope it’s the same for you

@jenkel Yeah if i bite on mine it feels like the tooth moves but it doesn’t as it’s not wobbly and the dentist said the bone is fine so it’s weird as isn’t moving but it feels like it?? So I don’t bite on it now! Will just wait and see and as long as it’s doesn’t change colour or wobble I guess I just gotta get on with it?? Can’t imagine ever biting an apple again 😂
