TMI - Hemorrhoid and Tears

Hi Mummies! Sorry for anonymous but a bit private so wanted to hide🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Maybe TMI! If so, I’m sorry!

I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. I’ve been on antibiotics for the last 5 weeks which resulted in being completely constipated😫 I ended up with an awful hemorrhoid which thankfully has now gone down! BUT I’m now left with a really sore bum! It bleeds everytime I go to the toilet, it’s above my actual BH though? I’m absolutely crapping myself about delivering with splits/cracks and I guess I’m just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem before delivering? I split upward with my first child, but was left with a very thin perineum as well. After having hemorrhoids that got so big they left what looks like skin tags and every BM gives me small cuts(splits) that keep bleeding 🩸 and it’s becoming pretty painful, reminds me of the soreness after delivering my first born!

I’d anyone has any advice on what I could do to make it better and less sore, or even someone who had similar before giving birth with a positive outcome.. I’m petrified of completely tearing as it’s so sensitive already! Maybe not the right group for this but just a very nervous pregnant mummy!

Go to the doctor. There are some very effective creams etc that are only available on prescription.

I've had this a couple of times (not pregnant or constipated!) and it was a strep skin infection which was treated with penicillin. While that was acting I found it helpful to slap sudacrem or emoilient cream on it after every BM to act as a barrier and it seemed to help with the healing.

I had a strep infection with my first born actually.. it was Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome and ended up passing it to my son who needed to be hospitalised at 4 days old Sadcould it be a repeat? Hoping it isn't of course! My doctors haven't been that helpful but I've put that down to all the restrictions in place, but having constantly painful bm this close to my due date is horrible!

Unfortunately my doctor won't see me to be able to prescribe me anything. I've had phone backs and he gave me thrush cream Confused

It’s appalling that your GP won’t see you. Can you make a phone appointment with another GP? Sometimes persisting gets somewhere.

I think I'm going to have too, I had to ring 111 just to get a call back from a GP about a stubborn kidney infection that wouldn't go even with 4 lots of different antibiotics! (Not even going to mention the weight gain from 5/6 weeks constant antibioticsSadConfused) I've just started trying aloe Vera on sanitary towels to see if that can at least ease the pain until I can get seen, my midwife hasn't been too great with it just tells me to get an appointment even though it's almost impossible to be seen face to face and without a doctor examining me I just can't get the right cream 😫

I think the prescription-only stuff recommended on here for tears/hemmaroids is Scheriproct which had a painkiller and steroid in it. But as you’re going to give birth you’ll want more advice and input than just that. Are you on stool softeners and drinking loads of water?

After that awful experience with the kidney infection you could raise your difficulties in getting adequate care with the practice manager. That might get things moving.

It’s disgraceful that Dr’s won’t see people in person! I logged on online thing with mine, she called me back and invited in for an appointment less than an hour later. Took two lots of swabs and a prescription for the penicillin to start taking if I wanted to or to wait for the test results to come back and then start taking. If I hadn’t gone she was going to give me suppositories for the piles whereas actually my skin was raw and infected and the problem was nothing to do with the piles!
