Hi - I hope someone can help me and I dont get judged for this - im really struggling. I had my baby 7 months ago and im pregnant again - since becoming pregnant the first time I have REPEATEDLY suffered from Intertrigo.

Intertrigo is a rash that usually affects the folds of the skin, where the skin rubs together or where it is often moist. This rubbing can cause a breakdown in the top layers of the skin, causing inflammation and a rash. The breakdown of skin makes it easier for bacteria or fungus to develop in this area

I know, gross. But since becoming pregnant the first time i got it over and over and still am! And yes, i am overweight, which is a contributing factor i believe. It get it where my c section scar is, i get it under my boobs, i get it near my upper thigh crease near my crotch... And i feel utterly disgusting - it smells and makes me feel like a monster...

I DO SHOWER as much as i can with caring for a 7 month old. But i seem to be sweating so much more now that ive been pregnant. Someone please tell me im not alone. And any advice? xxx

I'm the same, under boobs, c-section scar and top of thighs in the crotch crease. The only thing I've found to work is washing daily, making sure area is totally dry and I dust with athlete's foot powder. I also use coal tar soap, not shower gel. That seems to keep it at bay.

If you don't have time for a shower can you do a flannel wash in the morning? That's what I do sometimes if I'm short on time.

Daily shower, dry well with clean towel, (put towel into hot wash after). Smear of sudocrem over affected areas. Do this daily and that will contain it and it won't come back. For bad flare ups get some anti-fungal cream from the chemist. It's nothing to feel ashamed of, it's very common. DP is prone to it.
