A relative has a fairly poor diet and smokes (not a huge amount) and I'm wondering about the effect this is likely to have on their health and life.
I know it sounds obvious - all the illnesses linked with poor lifestyle - diabetes, cancer, heart disease, stroke.
Relative says how much exercise they do when it's brought up - it's true, they hike, walk everywhere and generally quite fit.
Relatives spouse cooks family meals which are generally pretty healthy - always veggie often vegan and plenty of veg with them. If relative is left to own devices, generally skips breakfast, has a lot of cheese sandwiches, pork pies, sausage rolls, no fruit or veg by choice, little water as it's passed over in favour of coffee.
Certainly not huge, a little padding around the middle at a push.
Is it really possible to avoid poor lifestyle diseases if you're fairly active?
