I've recently posted about finding out i had a severe vitamin d deficiency and the awful symptoms I've been experiencing which I am now supplementing for...

However my gps arnt much help so decided its time to really start taking a hold on my own Health I've recently signed up to view my gp records online... I last had my b12 checked in January 2019 my b12 level was 146pmol/L the guideline was 115-1000 so fell in normal range so gp was told no further action needed however this seems on the very low side to me especially when experiencing symptoms that could be related... my ferritin was 34ug/L and my serum folate was 6.0ug/L ... do these seem low enough to cause symptoms?? I'm considering paying private to have all my levels checked again... so sick of feeling unwell I no the vitamin d is playing a part but want to make sure im on top of everything that could be contributing

That's a low B12. The others are on the low side of normal. I would speak to your doc.

Good luck.

@HappyFox21 What you see on lab results is not the optimal or healthy level but the range of the population and you can have extremes which have little to do with ideal levels.
In a way, it is a snapshot at what the population tested levels are. It can vary from one region to another. It is explained better here.

In addition to that, every body is unique on what it needs. B12 is absolutely safe to take as a supplement. I take 1000ug per day. Folate, ideally you shouldn't take the supplements, but go for the natural form, plenty of leafy greens,

A value people always forget t check is omega 3 index. You have to pay for it. The system I use is omegaquant.com it should be available in the UK. You don't need the fancy tests, the basic one , a quick prick of the finger, will tell you your levels. .

The first time I checked mine I was dramatically low.
