Anyone used salt from the dead sea for skins problems?

My aunt has returned from Israel and brought with her some sea salt stuff apparantly from the dead sea - great for skin conditions she reckons. Has anyone else heard of this or tried it? She has psoriasis but she bought some for my DS aged 2 - he has severe eczema.

I buy one boots sell when its on offer for my psoriasis (must remember to go and look tomorrow). I think for it to be therapeutic you need to use quite a lot at each time. It can sting a bit if its sore I've found. I'm not sure whether it helps but the one I like has lots of rose in it and it smells heavenly. I think when you've got horrid skin you need to pamper it to treat yourself.

dead sea therapy itself is very well know for psoriasis. I've heard that in germany healthcare will pay for trips to the dead sea to special spas. Its probably a combination of the right sort of light and bathing in the dead sea. Would love to do it myself one day.

It's the only think that will manage my psoriasis when it really flares but as WFBK says, it can sting like hell if you've got cracked lesions. I first used it on holiday in Israel 12 years ago and have not used anything else since.

A gentler introduction might be the soap form? I don't know if you can use soap at all with eczema but the Malki dead sea version from boots is very good too.
