Could I have some ideas for healthy smoothies?
Something beneficial for a 49 year old peri menopausal woman.
Thanks.

I have this one several mornings a week . It is anti-inflammatory and packed with polyphenols, fibre and a boost for good bacteria. Full of fibre.
I follow their recipe but don't put the banana or similar fruit, but a couple handful of blueberries. Don;t put strawberries , it tastes horrible. I like it better with ice cubes. If I have it , I will also add fresh turmeric ( in this case, you need to slice the equivalent of 2 cm in a bowl, add some ground pepper and half a teaspoon of olive oil)

Kale is also great for skin as full of betacarotene and the second you walk in the sun, it gives the lovely kale glow and nice tan without burning.

If you use a fresh bunch of kale, you must cut out the hard stem, it is too bitter.

It is a lot to drink so what I don't have for breakfast I live in the fridge for later.

I eat an enormous amount of vegetables but since introducing the green smoothie, I still feel the difference.

Thank you so much for that! I'll have a good look at it tomorrow.

As a rule, avoid sweet based (fruit, yoghurt, ...) , who you reach 50, you have to be careful with sugar, even natural one, so yes to a pear, slice of watermelon, but not to blending fruit.
It is also important to boost fibre intake to high level for better dna repair, kale is one of the best food to mitochondria health!

If you are still eating them, it should be time to stop processed meats (bacon, sausage, ham, ...) as they shorten your telomere length

I freeze bananas and then add kefir, blueberries, and whatever else i have and can tolerate. I drink them more when I have a uC flare so can't put in things like Kale that are hard to digest. I do add a dose of liquid vit D/calcium.

Thank you. I have IBS so I'm trying to follow a low fodmap diet. I'll have a look at the suggestions here and the low fodmap allowances and take it from there. Thank you.
