Adhesions post-CS- can they cause pain and what can be done?

Hi, I had a second CS 6 weeks ago and in the last couple of weeks I have had increasing pain when weeing. It feels a bit like cystitis pain but comes on as I am finishing the wee rather than beginning it (presumably as the bladder contracts in on itself.) I also get a kind of dragging pain just above my pubic bone.

I remember that I had something a bit similar after my first section and it never quite went away, just got a bit better. I am going to see my GP but wondered in the meantime whether uterine adhesions could be forming that are "tugging" on the bladder. Has anyone any experience of this? I know adhesions are fairly common following CSs but do not know if they are known to cause pain like this.

TIA

hi fio
I will ask the GP to test for infections. But it doesn't feel quite the same. Also, had antibs last time to try to resolve this but they didn't have any effect.

are you saying you had bladder pain too after your section(s)?

pls excuse tying, am feeding at same time!

I had similar at around the same time as my section but it faded after a few weeks. I put it down to fibrous adhesions contracting and then being gradually stretched out as I got more active and my womb got right back to normal.

that should read 'around same time after my section'!

I would seek medical advice from your GP in the first instance with a view to seeking a gynae referral.

Any abdominal surgery can cause adhesions to form post operation. These are like sticky strands that can tether organs together.

Drug treatment on its own will not be effective once they are formed; adhesions are usually removed through surgery.
