Is this vitamin D level low??

Hi, So I've been feeling exhausted lately. Lots of pains in my arm and leg bones, muscle spasms all over, aches etc but to the point where I'm struggling to do anything and am getting exhausted easily.

Called GP who's ordered some bloods but I can't get in for a test for over 3 weeks... I was feeling awful so hubby got me a Superdrug one which has come back as 72 nmol/L.

Superdrug have said this is a healthy number but I've just looked online and some places say otherwise..

I will give doc a call if I need to but desperate to find out why I feel like this, he was sure this would come back low.

Anyone had experience of this and know if I AM in normal range?

TIA x

It's a little suboptimal, I would aim to get it to 100. Supplementing your Vitamin D now and then having it retested in 3 weeks with the rest of your bloods seems like a good idea.

Over 50 nmol/L is considered adequate.

thank you, so it's not low enough to cause these symptoms you don't think?

Any chance you are asymptomatic covid ?

Hi, no I've been feeling like this for a few months now, it's been a gradual buildup. I've had a couple of covid tests over that period and they've come back negative.

I had my bloods done last week, as feeling similar to what you describe. Dr said all normal and when I asked what vitamin d was he said 61 nmol and B12 was 546 which he said was normal but now I'm wondering if it is at the lower end of normal

Your vitamin d could be a little higher but it's unlikely to be that making you feel so ill at 72.

It could be loads of things. If you can't get into the GP earlier I don't think there's much you can do other than wait for the appointment. Or you could do a private test but for that timescale is just wait.

If you are checking your thyroid function get your test done first thing, fasting.
