Should toddlers have bad breath?

My dd (2) sometimes has bad breath in the morning, specially if her nose is blocked. Is it normal? I worry it might be a sign of something more serious, like diabetes? She is very well otherwise, so I'd find it hard to believe, but should I take her to doctors anyway?
I'm also careful with her teeth. They're brushed practically everyday and I try that she doesn't have sweets and doesn't eat between meals.

My dentist also said that for under 2s should be once a day. Maybe that's the EAPD (whatever that is!) advice.

That says a minimum dose per day of flouride. It doesn't say brush only once a day. On my toothpaste it says twice a day and that is what I have always done with my children. Once a day is not enough in my opinion. You have potentially 24 hours of milk, etc sitting on their new teeth. Has to be twice a day for us.

Oops, read the right bit. Once a day?

Why are you so shocked???
Milk teeth have big gaps between them so food can't really accumulate. I think saliva is quite good in getting read of the milk and juice, etc. My personal worry is if they don't get enough fluoride because you really need it to build strong teeth.

But we all have particular things we worry about, don't we?

I don't worry about my children's teeth. My eldest is nearly 7 and I have never been told I should only brush once a day when under 2. The things you learn, eh?
