Spitting blood

This might sound weird or random lol but I'm going to type it anyway 🙈
I'm 11 weeks pregnant but I don't think that's relevant. I have been spitting up fresh bright red blood for about 6 days. Generally comes on when I have bad heartburn. I have a hiatus hernia too, I was advised by my gp to got to a&e last week which I did. They tested me for a blood clot but this came back negative and they just sent me home.
It has continued since then and doesn't seem to be getting better. Spoke to my GP today who said he'd put me on reflux tablets, but I'm already on them 🤦🏼‍♀️. Otherwise he just said to see how it goes. Just seems very bizarre that no one is really concerned. Don't know if I'm just over reacting?

I would ring 111 OP, you must be bleeding somewhere.

Lovingspring · 08/03/2021 23:04

Spoke to 111 today. They directed me back to the GP who said the above

I agree with other replies, you should get this checked. However it's quite possible you have pregnancy induced gingivitis (i'm a dentist) which basically means the increased hormones can make your gums inflamed (NOT infected). Extra cleaning and hygienist visits can usually reduce the symptoms until they calm more one hormones settle down. So if GP is out of ideas, book yourself in for a dental check up (free on nhs whilst pregnant) to see what they say x

Should clarify, if gums are inflamed they can bleed more easily, when brushing or even just spontaneously
