[sighs]

24hour urine collection.

must remember to take it to the hospital tomorrow.

its not mine.

Its peters.

Can you believe its been almost 3months.

the emotions are still running high, but we are slowly getting back to ground level with normal stuff.

i still well up over little things. like 3months with a new heart beating in his chest. its like a glorious little drum in his ribcage, beating out a steady rythm.

I remember 1 bloke had 3 bottles!!!Imagine!!

Is he coping ok lvoc,it must be a big change for you all.It was lovely when people got a transplant but still loads of hospital appointmentas and immunosuppressants and bloods and suchlike.

EmsMum · 05/11/2007 23:46

I've had to deliver large containers of DH wee to the lab a couple of times. Once the collection day coincided with a longish walk - picnic in one backpack, wee bottle in t'other. And I know the simple pleasure of hearing a steady heartbeat. (my DH has atrial fibrillation and various strange biochemistries- nothing like what you've been through but enough to appreciate what you're saying)

Normality is just wonderful!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 05/11/2007 23:48

oh i can imagine WT. when dh was first diagnosed and started on directics he filled those other bottles which men use in hospital 3 times over in one go lol.

lol emsmum. the last one he had to do whilst at home was over two years ago, and was started on the last day of a holiday. that was errr interesting lol. packing up the caravan 'how you got your bottle of wee dear?'

LOL!!!

I am just at the beginning of the journey of coping with "Living with your partners chronic illness".DP is hospitalised with a newly diagnosed auto immune condition (nothing as serious as requiring a tx) but he has had a couple of lifre threatening moments. but I find your threads strangely reassuring!!!.

I was off mn when he was really poorly but the first thing I saw when I got back was about Peters transplant hurrah !!!!
