Gallstone type aches but gallbladder removed a year ago

I had my gallbladder removed over a year ago but I have been getting achy pains in the exact same place that my gallbladder was.

It isn't painful enough to take painkillers (yet) but has been on and off for a week (possibly a month at a very, very low level) but today it has been quite constant and getting stronger (although still bearable).
The pain is getting "longer" in that the ache is going upwards towards under my breast rather than just in the directly under the right rib at the side position.
Can anyone help know what this could be?

Mine has been gone about five years, but I still get twinges.
I think I remember reading you can get gallstones even without a gallbladder.

Mine has been gone 10 years and I still get the odd ache, or sometimes a little nip like something's poking me inside! Not sure what it is.
I know sludge can sometimes be left behind in the bile duct (?) that they leave behind.

I woke up one night a year after mine was removed with severe pain.
It was something called sphincter of oddi dysfunction.

Urg... so its not uncommon. That poking feeling is familiar.

Mine has been out for 5 years and I get pains like this too. Doesn’t last long though.

Oh yes the poking feeling like the little metal fingers wriggling, very short lived.
I've been getting those sorts of pains for years and years but only just realised it was to do with the gallbladder.
Can you ask the GP for a scan Opie to find out what the problem is?

It could be adhesions, internal scar tissue from surgery.

Ah - could be scar tissue. I will mention it next Dr appointment I have unless it suddenly ramps up massively.

You can still get gallstones even without gallbladder. I’ve had them a few times now. It could also be trapped wind in the same place. It’s less likely to be adhesions unless you had complications in the surgery.

I went to hospital with what I thought was gallbladder pain but it turned out to be gastritis
