Brest Clinic Referral

Not sure why I'm posting this but I'm driving myself mad and am so anxious I feel like I can't breath.

I found a lump in my armpit before Christmas but thought it may have been a gland or something so I'd give it a couple of weeks to go away. What with lockdown and homeschooling I put it to the back of my mind but last week realised it was still there so I made a GP appointment, I've now been referred to the breast clinic and I'm just terrified. I have health anxiety and Covid has had me pretty close to the edge but this is just sending me over it, I'm at home with the kids but all I've done is cry for days and not sleep.

Husband has gone to work today and I'm sure that's to get away from me, he doesn't do illness or worry.

People just keep telling me not to worry but I can't calm myself and feel like a right idiot.

@JustDavesWife

The hospital finally called and I'm all clear, it's an infected skin cyst that needs a dose of antibiotics. I am so relieved it's been such a long wait and I was so scared. I hope you all get similar results, I'll keep checking back x

What a relief. So happy for you, must have been such a worrying time Wine

That's such good news JustDavesWife you must feel ecstatic.

@Handsoffstrikesagain I've settled a bit as past couple of days just. I have a scan for my pregnancy next week so I know I really need to just focus on that at this moment in time, as I've had 2 recent miscarriages! With this lump I am just really letting my mind wander where it shouldn't and I actually think I've made myself ill with worry and am coming down with a cold! How are you?

JustDavesWife · 22/03/2021 13:22

@CyberGhost have you had your breast clinic appointment yet?

@Fawn68 how did the pregnancy scan go? Your clinic appointment is this week isn't it?

@Handsoffstrikesagain have you had your appointment yet?

@Dithery & @Gertie75 how are you both?

I think I've missed people but hope you're all ok x

@JustDavesWife everything went great, baby all good so fingers crossed it will be ok this time! Yes my appointment is on Thursday and still worried sick, boob feels quite lumpy all over now but I'm hoping that's just from pregnancy.

Dithery · 22/03/2021 20:34

Hi @JustDavesWife

All is well here thanks. How is everyone else? How have appointments gone? Keeping fingers crossed xxx

Gertie75 · 22/03/2021 20:54

I had the all clear! My gp had said she felt multiple lumps but there were none on the mammogram and the consultant couldn't feel any.
He thinks the pain is costochondritis coming from my ribs behind my breast, I've had it 7 weeks now but he said that it can take a long time to settle down.
I felt so relieved on Thursday when I found out and have been so tired since, I think all the stress has wiped me out.

I hope everyone else has had good news too.x

Dithery · 22/03/2021 21:04

Great news Gertie75!

JustDavesWife · 22/03/2021 21:14

Gertie75 that's great news! I know what you mean about the tiredness, it must be the stress of waiting. I had the best nights sleep once I heard from the hospital. x
