Blurry eyes!

I have autoimmune conditions and on medication that can potentially affect the eyesight. Therefore all my tests are up to date to keep on top of my eye heath and vision.

My last eye test went really well and I could read all letters etc clearly and they had a good look at the back of my eyes etc.

But, I'm struggling with reading small text, like on my laptop and in a book etc. It's like it's out of focus and I have to keep blinking to read it. It's not because of tiredness or anything.

Anyone know why this may be happening?

Thanks.

Did your eye test look at long and short sight

nolovelost · 21/02/2021 18:15

@DogsSausages I'm assuming so!

Sorry yes it did...DOH!

When was your last eye test? I have one every two years (eye problems all my life) but realised something had changed after less than a year so went for a test to be sure. Prescription had changed.

@loveyoutothemoon Could it be high blood sugar?

You must get an optician to check your eyes. But ask them to check your blink rate. That isn't a standard test. If you don't blink at a standard rate it causes your eyes to get dry, and it's notable when you are focusing on something. Few things need the focus that computer screens and pages do.

I had a test about a month ago.
I suppose it could be dry eye, which I suffer with, which would explain why the eye test was okay.
Hadn't thought of high blood sugar, maybe I should get tested.
Thank you.

How old are you? Everyone who I know in their mid forties has started to struggle with reading small print and needs reading glasses. It could be something as simple as that.
