Hi Everyone. I remember reading one of the threads where a lot of you were talking about weight watchers. Were you all refering to that points program. I forgot what its called. Many, many yrs ago I did join when they were doing the fiber program and the fat gram program. I did the fat gram one and it really worked well. I'm really interested in their newest program and i'm thinking about joining again.

Do any of you guys have any opinions on how the program worked for you and if its worth getting involved in. I do have quite a bit of weight to lose from my last child. I also like the support they gave me in the past.

I think one of the best things was that I had to check in every week on how I was doing. It does encourage you alot. Any opinions would be great.

threeangels I am just back from weightwatchers and from being a skeptic ( we all know how to lose weight, don't need to pay someone to weigh me etc..) I am SO glad I joined.
I have lost a total of 22 and a half pounds in about 15 weeks.
Yes WW does follow a points programme.
Talking to some of the class who went to WW many years ago, the points system is a simplified version of the old fiber/fat thing and they tell me it is even easier to follow now.
I joined paartly because so many people at mumsnet were doing it ( thank you Rhiannon ) as well as being inspired by a real life friend who recommended I join.
The weekly weigh in definately helps you to stay with the programme.
Go on, do it soon! Look up www.weightwatchers.co.uk and type in your postcode and it will tell you when and where your nearest classes are. If you are not in the UK there is a link to all the other WW programmes in other countries.
At the moment registration is free,(normally a one off joining fee of about £9) so each week you will have to pay £4.50 to get weighed/attend the class.
One tip . You will be asked to state your goal weight. Don't make it too low for two reasons. One, it is so inspiring to reach it, even if you then decide to lose more, and two, once you do reach it meetings are free so long as your weight does not go more than 5 lbs over your goal.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Hi threeangels,
another WW convert here. I loved the points system because even when you reach goal, stop tracking everything you eat and relax abit.. you never stop mentally adding up the points! I'm sure this has enabled me to stay under goal for the last 2 years!
I did it before I had ds, I only had half a stone to lose but it would not budge so I went with my mum and we loved it and both did really well. Then after I'd finished b/feeding I went again and the weight came off in a few months. Its also great being a 'gold member' and knowing you've got free meetings/weigh ins for life, (so long as Jasper says, you don't go 5lbs over your goal weight).
You also get to meet some really nice people too!
Best of luck
Jessi
