Anyone missing all their molars?

Bit of a long one so will try and keep it to the point as much as possible. Started getting toothache when I was 5 months pregnant (currently 5 months post partum). Upper left wisdom tooth removed, then few weeks later had the upper right wisdom tooth out. Pain continued all throughout the pregnancy. Was nearly always on the left side on various molars. Saw numerous dentists/surgeons who all felt the pain was tmjd although 2 dentists felt it was atypical facial pain. DD was born and ended up getting lower first molar out after failed root canal. The molar above it was also sore and x ray showed peridontal disease/bone loss around the tooth. Dentist recommended getting it out (heavily restored tooth) but another dentist in the practice disagreed and said it's clearly atypical facial pain and to leave it alone. Saw maxfax consultant today who was lovely but he feels that the issue is the upper 2nd molar (although no dentist has ever remarked on this tooth before). He advised getting it out along with the lower left wisdom tooth which is impacted and prone to bouts of infection. Basically I'm worried im going to have no molars left on that side. I feel like every dentist is giving me different advice and don't know what to do. If I do end up losing all molars on one side will I still be able to eat? If anyone who has been through similar could advise I would be so grateful!

I've a big gap on my right side with top and bottom molars missing. No issues eating.

I have no molars as they all had to be removed because they were growing sideways. I don’t have any issues eating.

Thanks so much for the replies!
@Mabelface did you have all your molars out in one go?
@Gyptian do you mean no molars on both sides?

My DM has had no molars on one side and only one or two on the other for years (she's in her 70s and lost most of them in her 30s and 40s).
She has no problems eating.

@RupertTheBear89- I have none whatsoever! I had all four removed at different times.

Mabelface · 16/02/2021 11:33

Mine were removed over time.

Nothing helpful to add, but massive sympathy. I have also gone down the road of atypical facial pain/TMJD etc etc over the last year. Still going through it. It is miserable, and hugely frustrating trying to figure out which dentist to listen to. All have offered me differing opinions too.

@cautiouscovidity @Mableface @Gyptian thanks for the reply!
@opalescent thanks for the sympathy. Although it's horrible that you're going through similar, it makes me feel a bit less lonely knowing other people are in the same situation. Literally just on my way back from my dentist now and he completely disagrees with maxfax consultant and said under no circumstances am I to get the UL7 out (at least not yet anyway). He's doing a referral for an mri as maxfax wouldn't do it.
