Gap in teeth

Hi I'm not sure if this is the right section for this but I'm 36 and I have quite a large gap in my front teeth and my teeth aren't straight. When I was a teenager I almost got a brace but the appointment before I was due to get them fitted the dentist was different and she decided my teeth weren't white enough so get braces. I was devastated as my teeth were fine. Even my normal dentist was shocked but nothing was done about it. I was a shy teenager. After this I didn't go back to the dentist at all for over 10 years. Now at 36 I have become deeply unhappy about my teeth. They look awful. They are nice and clean and I look after them but a huge gap is very noticeable. However I'm currently on benefits due to being a single mum. I also have bad credit due to past mistakes. My question is will I be able to get braces to fix my teeth on some sort of finance arrangement with the dentist if I have poor credit rating? Also does anyone know what sort of prices it would be? I'm thinking around the 3 grand mark.

Depends on the type of braces you’d like too, I had a front gap years ago that was closed with fixed braces but there are other braces which are pricier but less noticeable. But no idea what’s suitable for your teeth.
Have you looked on websites of dentists local to you? They might explain finances. If not just ring and ask.

It also depends how much realignment needs to be done, if its just straightening and moving your front teeth together, then it will cost less than if they need to realign more of the upper teeth and possibly also the lower teeth.

You could probably look at the 6m smile route but these are poorly rated by professionals and the effects don't last - I know a few people who've made that mistake.

Best thing is to seek quotes directly from dentists which will mean initial consultations.

my dentist offers a "pay as you go" scheme where they dont do a credit check. As long as you have deposit, you should be able to pay as you go.

You’re probably looking at between £2500 and £3500. Don’t go via the online route they have been causing considerable problems within the dental community and patients end up seeing a reputable orthodontist to fix the mess so end up paying twice or having further dental treatment to fix damage to their teeth.
Make an appointment with a dentist and ask for a private referral to a specialist orthodontist. Most orthodontists do payment schemes for adult private patients.
A good orthodontist will probably prefer a fixed brace rather than Invisalign and with a large gap you will probably need fixed retention rather than a removable appliance when treatment is complete. This ensures that the gap doesn’t open up again.

You can get composite bonding to fill a gap, if that’s your only concern. It’s much cheaper than braces! I paid £150 per tooth!
