Sorry to sound like such a worry wart but dd (18 months) got a bang on the head at grandma's this morning (10ish). She went to sleep at just before 1, practically falling asleep in her lunch and is still asleep now. Should I wake her to check she is OK or am I just worrying unnecessarily?

DD got a big bang to the head a while ago, NHS direct advised rousing her ever hour thorugh the night to make she i could rouse her ,and take her to A&E if she would not rouse. give her a prod, and see what happens

Agree with Lulu, I think the current rules are you don't have to worry about them sleeping too much. Does she usually sleep for this long? And how was she before?

GColdtimer · 01/11/2007 14:53

She has just woken up, happy as anything. Thanks lulumama, just started having a mild panic.

sorry, x posted. No she doesn't normally sleep for that long which is why I started getting worried. She is fine though.

the stress probably wiped her out !
glad she is ok

when DD fell, she was also sick, and i was dithering over taking her the 30 minute trip to A&E, but within minutes she was playing and calm. took her to GPs for a check over the next day. DH was mortified, as he had been looking after her, and she fell off our bed, and vomited everywhere, he thought she was vomititng blood, but it was juice, which i had never given her before!!!!

Glad she's ok. A few months ago, DS2 (3) cut his brow open when he fell off a stool (don't ask). I took it to be glued & the nurse said he could be sleepy later, from the shock. It's always a worry, though, isn't it?!

Oh, sickness with it is really scary (especially if red .

I think you are both right the stress and the shock knocked her out. She is with DH know having a cuddle and a snack, she has a real shiner on her forehead and is asking for "cweeaam" because we put some arnica on it earlier.

Bless grandma, she is so upset. These things just happen though. I am sure there will be plenty more to come.
