A struggle with back pain since 18. Looking for advice?

Hello! I’m new here, looking for some advice. I’ve had sciatica issues since 18. I’ve learned to live with and manage that on my own but a few months back, I lifted a case of water and boom, my lower back was done. I couldn’t walk without excruciating pain, I shuffled my feet along the floor to get to the bathroom and cried the entire time including at night as I wasn’t sleeping due to the pain. I ended up getting better in a few days and it has happened twice since that first episode. Now I’m just constantly suffering with lower back pain. It’s especially bad when I’m sitting down, any weight on my butt at all. When I blew my back out those three times, I couldn’t sit for over a month. I stood up to do everything. I have terrible anxiety about seeing the doctor for it. I’m not sure why but the pain has changed lately and that has me even more worried. I’m feeling it down my left thigh and in my left arm and shoulder. Anybody have any advice? I’m doing heat, ice, rest, stretching, anti inflammatory medications. I’m 29 now and I want to be doing so much more!

So sorry the pain is so awful and debilitating have been there myself although never had pain in shoulder or arms. Can you ask your GP for a referral for an MRI to check if it’s a recurring disc problem? Also private physios are still open worth seeing someone even if just for an initial consultation sometimes the wrong stretches can make things worse

Also my physio said that the pain changing is better than it staying constant (which means physio maybe wouldn’t work). Check out Bob and Brad on YouTube who say the same. They were saying even if the pain moves or changes and get slightly worse that’s better than no change at all. Discs can take quite a long time to heal if it’s a disc problem
