Any Tamoxifen threads?

Hi,
I'm due to start taking Tamoxifen this year and wanted to know if there were any active threads at the moment. I'm sure I've seen older threads but I can't find any.
TIA.

@Lunificent fingers crossed you don’t get any neuropathy/nail damage - for me it’s been worse than loosing my hair (though even that’s all grown back as thick and strong as it was before the chemo - so none of the major damage appears to last!).

Also hope the U.K. gets some sun so you can use your lounger when it arrives! After three years of continuous sunshine I’m not enjoying the weather!!

Sorry for the late reply.
I have decided to take a half dose of Tamoxifen to see how I go but I can't tolerate anymore side effects from drugs, I have had enough.
Docetaxol was hell for me, my hands and feet were okay but my stomach and bowel took a beating, my stomach still isn't 100% since I stopped in Feb.

I hope you are all doing okay and managing in this heat.

@Fuckmyliferightnow I fully understand your sentiments (and largely share them). I will finish my 3 months worth of Arimidex this week (awaiting a further prescription!). I have to say the side effects have eased (I took the 3 month supply over 4 months) having read up on the subject and read some (medical research) information suggesting ‘breaks’ are thought to help limit side effects without impacting positive results.

Taxol neuropathy in my hands was awful - but 6 months on it’s nearly gone and doesn’t bother me. My gut is also ok - but I took (and continue to take) acidophilus (recommended by my oncologist!) and focus on foods that are ‘gut friendly’ as well as occasional fasts (again supported by my original oncologist - who unbelievably I miss!).

I wish you all the best but I feel so much better with every month that goes by and hope you do too!

6 months - gosh time flies I’m nearly 8 months post chemo and 5 months post radiotherapy! Two months since my first review in the U.K. and still awaiting planned appointments. I have been trying to buy Arimidex on-line but need a prescription (rang to try and get one and was told appointment on its way and no need to contact GP surgery but still heard nothing further). Anyone know how to get a prescription?

Hi all, I took Tamoxifen for 5 years (right mastectomy in 2016),and have just been moved onto Anastrozole. I had my ovaries, Fallopian tubes and uterus out 8 weeks ago due to pre cancerous cells in the uterus.

For me the first 12 months on Tamoxifen was hell to be honest. I had every side effect going! The worst was terrible low mood, brain fog, extreme hot flushes every night, and the leg cramps were miserable too. After a year my body seemed to accept it.

I feel much better on Anastrazole though. Just a bit sad about losing all my womanly bits and not being able to take HRT.

Hello. I hope you don't mind me resurrecting a zombie thread.

I just wondered how everyone was doing?

I'm due to start in the autumn after my lumpectomy. Coming off hrt too (so far ok.)

I've picked up that exercising is the best way through?
