Dental bridge question

So I had tooth removed (second from back) last year. Talked to dentist about having a bridge and he said the gap’s too wide. Just been reading about it and it seems you can have more than one tooth replaced by a bridge so any idea why won’t he help with my one tooth gap?

Do you receive NHS help with your dental care? They're usually reluctant to do it if it's just for looks and at the back...also, bridges attach to the adjacent teeth...not always something that's possible. A plate might be more suitable but obviously not as comfortable because you can definitely feel a plate (denture) in place.

He said he would’ve done it on the nhs (it does show when I speak/smile) but the gap was too big

It depends on the actual gap..and the state and size of the teeth either side.
I have a similar gap.. shows when I really smile.. and wanted a bridge but the gap is a bit too big apparently plus my teeth either side are worn down as I grind mine in my sleep.

I ended up going down the flexible denture route... mine is tiny (nothing like normal dentures..it's literally half an inch long) and slots in
where the gap is.

I won't lie.. they aren't cheap..mine cost about £700..but it's invisible, comfortable and no one would know..and it doesn't damage surrounding teeth.
Unfortunately I accidentally boil washed it when I left it in my pj pocket (take it out at night) and now am having to have a new one made!!!!!

I have a bridge of 4 front teeth, which I have had for around 15 years. It was quite a new procedure at the time. I was lucky my dentist was really interested in cosmetic procedures. It was expensive though but so worth it after having a denture for years
