Should breast still be painful 8 months after radiotherapy?

I was diagnosed with early breast cancer last February. I didn't need chemotherapy, just had surgery followed by radiotherapy which finished last May. But, my breast is still very often painful and my nipple can feel bruised and very tender. Can radiotherapy cause such long lasting effects?

It's particularly painful in bed when I roll over, it sorts of 'pulls' and really hurts. I'm wondering whether to go back to using a sleep bra, though?

@Gwenda68 how are you doing? I had lumpectomy in Jan this year and 5 radiotherapy sessions. Breast pain is increasing and I thought it had settled down, very tender and sharp shooting pains . Seeing my breast nurse tomorrow

5 years on I still have breast pain (lumpectomy and radio). No worse or better overall than at tge start but seems to fluctuate. Had a mammogram a few weeks ago and actually cried it was so painful!
