Old C-section scar

StarlingAngel · 26/01/2021 07:08

A month before my youngest turned 21 my c-section scar began to open up. It was 1 cm at first but now it's an inch long. I tried using Neosporin cream but it has not helped. I would rather not get stitched but not sure what to do. So afraid that it's gonna rip open more.

ring your gp. or 111?

MrsSmith2021 · 26/01/2021 07:17

You need to see a doctor.

bellagogosdead · 26/01/2021 07:23

Blimey! Yeah you need to have it looked at. Shock

WunWun · 26/01/2021 07:25

21 years?

What exactly do you mean by 'open up'?!

You need to see a doctor. I don't think a cream will stop anything 'opening up' Confused

ooohbriefcase · 26/01/2021 09:34

Opening up?? Cream isn't going to stop a scar ripping open Confused Go to the hospital.

ShirleyPhallus · 26/01/2021 09:35

Yeah definitely one for a doctor this!

missrm · 26/01/2021 09:37

Go to a&e! 🥴

Sway19 · 26/01/2021 09:44

Cream to stop a 21 year old scar from opening up? This can’t be serious. You need to see a doctor

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 26/01/2021 09:46

Confused go to the GP-don’t put cream on it, you might introduce infection!

StarlingAngel · 26/01/2021 11:41

It’s not deep enough to see my insides; just the meaty flesh.

WunWun · 26/01/2021 12:20

Why wouldn't you just go to the Dr though?

MrsSmith2021 · 26/01/2021 15:38

You still need to go to the doctor 🙄

You need to see someone ASAP!!

SquirtleSquad · 26/01/2021 23:17

21 years or days?

StarlingAngel · 30/01/2021 02:42

At 52 I’m old school stubborn. So I cleaned it out with Betadine; filled it with scar healing cream; then placed a silicone scar sheet over it. The wound closed up; is still a little tender but shows no sign of infection.

My daughter just turned 21yrs. old. The only thing I used that maybe was the culprit was a cream that’s supposed to help get rid of old stretch marks.

I can't believe you haven't gone to have it checked. Have you not heard of sepsis? And dangerous it can be once it takes hold? I really think you should see a doctor.

pdiddydid · 30/01/2021 14:07

What was the cream called that you think was the culprit? So I can avoid it.

I have a weird red bubble on my c section scar it almost looks like a blister but it’s painless. It’s almost as if it’s grown over a split I had. Can anyone help?
