MMR Booster Jabs - anyone do single jabs first time round and all together as the booster?

My DD aged 4 has just been asked to go for the MMR booster jab. We decided to give her the first vaccinations as single jabs as I was concerned it was an awful lot of stuff for her little body to cope with at one time. Now she is older I think I feel much happier letting her have them all in one go (and it saves me £300!). I would be interested in hearing from anyone who did single jabs the first time round and then just the one vaccination at age 4. Did you feel it was okay to do the one jab now they are older?

I didn't. With ds1 we had all the singles when a toddler and then just the measles booster when he was 4. We were told he didn't need boosters of the others. With ds 2, he had the single measled and ruebella, not mumps as he is allergic to egg. I think I may get his immunity checked first before paying for any more jabs.

Bumping for you!

I had single jabs and will not be having a booster. I was told that the single jabs are MUCH more effective in givig immunity but the MMR has a lower success rate and that is why they need a booster.

I would not go with the MMR for my dcs beacause the reasons i did not in the firt place remain and i am not sure they are any more ready for such a toxic combination at 4 as they were at 2 - just could not take the risk.

Hmm - interesting. Thank you to you both - I will ponder it. Anyone else got any thoughts?

DD had single jabs first time and then the booster MMR. She was nearly 3 for the singles and nearly 5 for the big one. No ill effects, no problems. If you are happy with her development and she's generally healthy etc then I don't think you have much to worry about.

Thanks barnstaple. I've just spent an hour trawling through the MN archives on this so feel a bit overwhelmed by it all but I think I'll go ahead with it!
