Specsavers - yes I’ve googled it!

I urgently need to order a new pair of glasses as my prescription has changed quite noticeably. I want to go to Specsavers and try glasses on before spending £150+ on them, I have tried ringing today several times to see if I can just turn up to try them on and buy them or book an appointment. Does anybody have any idea what the rules are at the moment?

I went for an eye test a couple of weeks ago and you can try the frames on. They just have to go in a basket for cleaning, rather than back on the display.
I had an appointment for a specific issue, but there were people who were just in to buy glasses too.

You can book eye tests as normal.

Thanks @Weedsnseeds1

I’ve had the eye test and have a new prescription but it was an independent opticians with a very limited variety and it’s been a pain in the bum now trying to find some I can try on first.

At our local specsavers they ask you to book a dispensing appointment to try on specs so that they can control the numbers in there. Specsavers are franchises though so policies can vary.

I tried to book an appt on the back of multiple letters for an overdue eye test, and was told by the woman 'it's not an emergency' and to come back once this is over Confused confused why they're open then!
